At Sun Moon Lake, autumn has more than one way of gathering: through a drumbeat across the water, a familiar chorus with an orchestra behind it, a cup of local red tea, or a run around the lake.
From 12 September to 14 November, Yuchi Township becomes a seasonal route through 花火、音樂、茶鄉 and movement—five distinct reasons to stay a little longer in the mountains.
12 September · Ita Thao Pier
十鼓擊樂團 brings 鼓震山水耀明潭 to the lakeside, with 達瑪巒文化藝術團 opening the evening through the Taiwanese Indigenous traditional song and dance 拍手歌. Drums, song, and dance meet the surrounding landscape before a program that includes 五丈原, 點將令, 天空斬, 怛羅之戰, 斬妖記, 鳳邑埤塘, 乘風破浪, 風馳雷掣, and 雷霆交鋒.
17 October · Shuishe Zhongxing Parking Lot
《18Light 十八·拾光》 marks the 18th year of the Taiwan Mobile Sun Moon Lake Fireworks Concert. Conductor 江靖波 leads a 75-member 樂興之時管絃樂團, with chief arranger 櫻井弘二, singers 文慧如 and 柏霖 Polin, plus special guest 八角塔男聲合唱團. More than 20 cross-generational songs meet orchestral sound and technology, including selections from Ravel’s Boléro, 當幸福在歌唱, 一眼瞬間, and 無與倫比的美麗.
17–18 October · Xiangshan Visitor Center
Taste the tea country through a small-farmer market of red tea, mushrooms, orchids, coffee, and Indigenous and Hakka local products; tea awards; family art, tea-making, and tasting activities; and the Sun Moon Lake Red Tea Cup singing competition. 明潭松韻樹石大展 runs 17–20 October at the Xiangshan Visitor Service Center, while 茶鄉魚池任遨遊 offers six themes and 10 in-depth local travel routes from mid-October through the end of November. A large music performance, 星耀茶鄉~茶香璀璨日月潭, is also planned for 18 October.

Choose the 42 km marathon, 29 km ultra half marathon around the lake, or 6 km bicycle-path walk. The 13th edition carries an AIMS-certified course and is Taiwan’s first AbbottWMM MTT event. Its per-kilometre donation initiative supports 2026 recipient 家扶基金會南投希望家園.
14 November · Xiangshan Visitor Center
郭聯昌 conducts the NTSO臺灣青少年交響樂團 with soprano 王依吟 and tenor 宮天平. The program moves from Verdi’s Nabucco Overture and operatic vocal selections to Taiwanese songs and film and animation selections such as Ponyo, Titanic, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Fire Dance.
For the music concerts, fireworks are planned to accompany the actual finale of each concert arrangement. Programs may change at the organizers’ discretion. Choose your day—or make an autumn of it—and come see how 日月潭 sounds after dark.
