Ẹ káàbọ̀! You know that agbada you've been saving for the right occasion? This is it.
Yoruba in Taiwan is hosting a day to celebrate culture right here in Taipei, and the plan is simple: show up wearing where you come from.
The dress code (our only rule)
Wear traditional attire from any tradition. Here are a few ideas to get your wardrobe going:
Not Yoruba? No problem at all. Saris and kente can share the room, and a dashiki will feel right at home next to whatever outfit your grandmother would sign off on. If it shows where your roots are, it fits right in.
What you'll take home
New faces from across Taipei's international community. A lot of compliments on your outfit, as long as you actually wore the outfit. And that good feeling of seeing your culture and someone else's side by side, everyone dressed up and proud of it.
It's a social day, so you don't need to prepare anything. Just bring your best traditional look and say hello.
