A steep climb, a summit together, and time to get to know your fellow hikers. Sishir will lead us up Qixingshan in Yangmingshan National Park. Expect to work for the top!
This is a hike, not a walk: medium to hard, and not for beginners. Come with the fitness to keep pace with the group.
Distance: approximately 6–8 km
Elevation change: approximately 500–700 m
Hiking time: approximately 5 hours
Meet early for the bus
Meeting location: Jiantan Rd, Shilin District, Taipei City, Taiwan 111. Times are Taipei local time.
Arrive early enough to queue—weekend buses get busy. If you miss the queue, taking a taxi to Yangmingshan visitor center is an option you arrange yourself.
Up via Miaopu, down toward Lengshuikeng
We'll start at Yangmingshan visitor center and take Miaopu Trail up to Qixing peak. Much of the path is paved, but it's very steep. At the top: grass, bamboo, and, weather permitting, a view worth pausing for.
The hike finishes near Lengshuikeng. From there, you can choose the hot springs, keep exploring Qingtiangang, or catch a bus back to Jiantan. We'll work out those onward plans in the moment; everyone can choose what suits them.
