You don’t need a philosophy degree, a reading list, or a polished opinion. Bring your questions, lived experience, and curiosity for a conversation that takes everyday ideas seriously.
Practical Philosophy is a discussion-led meetup for examining one topic together—not studying a particular school of thought or trying to win an argument. The point is to practise critical thinking, communication, and community through open, non-dogmatic conversation.
One topic, room for different perspectives
The week’s topic and optional jump-off prompts are shared in the Taipei WhatsApp group. They are there to get ideas moving, not to test you. What matters is what you think—and how the group can explore the question together.
If the room grows beyond 7–8 people, we split into smaller groups so the discussion stays conversational rather than turning into a lecture. You can share a perspective shaped by your background, religion, or a school of thought, but none is required.
The afternoon’s flow
Before you arrive
The meetup is free. If a gathering is held in a rented space, voluntary donations may sometimes help with the cost; they are never required.
Please arrive during the 3:30–3:45 PM welcome window. Arriving later can interrupt the small-group conversation once it begins.
