Tai Chi looks slow from across the park. Up close, it's a martial art: every gentle push, turn and shift of weight has roots in actual combat technique. Qigong works alongside it, using breath and posture to keep the body and the attention in the same place.
This session puts both on one floor, eight storeys up in Sanchong.
What you're signing up for
Tai Chi as a martial art. The forms come with the reasons behind them, not just the shapes.
Qigong. Breath-led movement where your body sets the pace, not the clock.
An indoor room in New Taipei City. Sun, rain and typhoon season don't get a vote.
No kung fu movie résumé needed to show up curious. The host hasn't listed level requirements, dress code or a gear list here, so if you're unsure about any of that, send a quick message before you go. It's easier than guessing in the elevator.
Finding the 8th floor
The address is No.16, Fuhe St. Take the lift to 8F, find the room, and start slowing down.
