The hardest part of any meetup is the first ten seconds, when you walk in alone and don't know who to talk to. At this one, the hosts take care of that part for you.
Taipei Weekend Social is a relaxed Saturday night for remote workers, digital nomads, expats, solo travelers, international students and friendly locals. The hosts greet new faces, make introductions and pull you into your first conversation. Some of them first came as guests, so they know what walking in alone feels like.
Two floors. Wander between them.
Not a language class
You'll hear plenty of English and Mandarin, but nobody's running drills. You're here to meet a few people you'd actually want to message tomorrow: "Dinner later?""Anyone heading out tonight?"
After 10 PM, if you're still going
Guests often team up and head to Maji Square or Xinyi District for another drink, some dancing or late-night food. The after-party is optional, and transport, extra drinks and entry fees aren't included.
The essentials
Walk-ins are welcome, or you can RSVP first. The bar serves both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and either one can be your included drink. Instagram: @taipei_weekend_social
Quick answers
I live in Taipei. Can I still come? Yes. Plenty of people come just to get out of the same old social circle.
Is it a dating event? No. It's a regular international social night.
I'm a bit shy. That's fine. Say hi to a host and they'll make the first introduction.
Do I have to sing? No. You can play darts, chat or just listen all night.
Come alone, have a drink, and go home with a few more people to call next weekend. 🌏
