Come alone; start the night with people to talk to.
This recurring Friday social is for Taipei newcomers, travelers, international residents, students, nomads, remote workers, and locals who want real conversation before deciding where the night goes. Friendly hosts make introductions and help you find a group—no need to arrive with one.
Start with conversation, then choose your night
The evening begins with a relaxed social at Somewhere Bar, with room for travel stories, Taipei life, remote-work chat, culture, or whatever the table is talking about. English and Mandarin are both welcome. You can naturally practice either language, but this is not a formal language class.
Hosts introduce guests throughout the first part of the night, so solo arrivals have an easy way into the conversation.
The Friday flow
7:30 PM–10:00 PM — social time at Somewhere Bar
Meet the group, order your included drink, and settle in.
Around 10:00 PM — optional hosted trip to Maji Square
The hosts gather the group and head to Maji for bars, music, dancing, DJs, or more conversation outdoors. Join the move, stay at the first bar, dance, explore, or head home when you want—the later-night plan is yours to choose.
Easygoing, not a drinking challenge
Your NT$350 entry includes one wine, beer, or non-alcoholic drink at Somewhere Bar. Drinking and dancing are optional. Transportation, later drinks, and any venue entry fees at Maji are not included.
