Most people walk in alone. By ten, a lot of them are heading out with a group.
That's the idea behind Friday at Somewhere Bar 那裡. Friendly local hosts welcome you, introduce you around, bring quieter guests into conversations and keep the night moving. You don't have to break into a room full of strangers by yourself. Some of the hosts first came as solo guests, so they know what that first walk in feels like.
Who you'll meet here
Solo travelers, international and exchange students, working holiday visitors, expats and newcomers building a circle, business travelers skipping a quiet hotel night, remote workers, and Taiwanese locals who just got back from abroad or want a more international crowd. You don't need to fit neatly into one of these.
This is a social night, not a language exchange. There are no language tables and no lessons. English and Mandarin come up naturally in conversation.
How Friday night works
After 10, you can go for music, another drink, dancing or just more talking, with people you've already met. If you join, you pay for your own transport, extra drinks and any entry fees.
Before you go
Your included drink can be wine, beer or a non-alcoholic option. Coming with a friend? It's still NT$400 each, and pairs also get 2 × NT$50 tokens to put toward more drinks.
Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend RSVPing. No Meetup account? RSVP on our website.
