Bring the headline that's been bugging you all week. A coup you can't quite follow, a trade deal nobody explains, a border dispute with three different versions of the story. This is a relaxed online circle where people think through world affairs out loud, together, to understand them better.
This isn't a lecture and nobody has to win. You'll be talking with fellow members from our sister clubs in Dubai, London and Berlin, which gives you plenty of angles on the same news.
How the three hours usually go
We go where the conversation goes. If you show up with a question, we'll often start there. If the room is quiet, we fall back on a loose route:
HOUR 1 ── EU · Middle East · Africa
HOUR 2 ── Asia Pacific
HOUR 3 ── Thematic
In short: the first hour covers Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the second covers Asia Pacific, and the third takes on a theme. The topics will overlap, because the world doesn't stay in neat boxes either.
You can come for one hour or stay for all three. Join late, leave early, or step out to make dinner. Nobody's taking attendance.
House rules (there are only a few)
Keep your camera off. That's the default. You can turn it on for a quick self-intro, but you don't have to.
No recordings. None at all, by anyone.
The Chatham House Rule applies. You can share what was said, but not who said it.
We meet online, so keep the session link handy before we start. Then bring your questions, your hot takes and your doubts, and come help us make sense of the world.
