Come for a live, interactive conversation with Eryk Michael Smith, then stay to meet the people asking thoughtful questions around you.
For 60 minutes, Eryk will lead an interactive discussion of recent developments in Kaohsiung and Taiwan, and what they may mean for the future of Taiwan. Bring your perspective, your questions, and your curiosity—this is a live community conversation, not a formal briefing or a fixed forecast.
Eryk is the host of Formosa Files and Editor-in-Chief of Kaohsiung Times. His work spans journalism, writing, audio editing, and broadcasting, including work as ICRT’s South Taiwan correspondent. Formosa Files began as an accessible Taiwan-history podcast; Kaohsiung Times brings Southern Taiwan stories to English-language readers. Together with Second Space, this gathering makes room for local context, multiple perspectives, and the people who want to stay connected to this city.
