Speak Japanese from the moment you enter. This free Zoom exchange brings together people across 15 countries/regions alongside more than 24 other groups—with Japanese as the shared language throughout.
No English confidence required. Meet in groups of about four, talk, then move to a new or adjusted group after around 30 minutes. It’s a relaxed way to practise everyday Japanese, meet people from different places, and keep the conversation moving.
Two small-group conversations
Japanese teachers are present, so you can practise Japanese and business Japanese too. If you are a super beginner, add super beginner to your Zoom name; the host may be able to adjust your group.
Before you join
Turn your video/camera on so your face is visible.
Add your nationality after your name in Zoom. This helps the host arrange international groups; you do not need to ask others directly.
You may join late or leave early.
No Zoom password is needed. Meeting ID: 840 7022 8451.
Only your name and nationality are requested; unnecessary personal information is not required.
Need help with breakout rooms?
Zoom will prompt you to enter a breakout room about every 30 minutes. See the host’s breakout-room entry guide; the prompt appears on both computer and smartphone screens.
