Slow is the point here. Tai chi is a martial art done at the speed of honey, and qigong is the breathing and movement practice that goes with it. Show up, follow along, and find out how much work it takes to move this calmly.
Two practices, one session
Tai chi is a martial art. The chuan in tai chi chuan means fist, so those soft, flowing forms do have a purpose. Each one is a technique slowed down until balance, weight shifts, and structure are all you can focus on.
Qigong is quieter. It pairs breath with simple, repeated movements to settle the body and pull your attention inward. It's a good counterweight to a day on the MRT and a screen.
You don't need a uniform or a fancy mat. Wear something you can bend and step in comfortably, and you're set.
