Historic stone steps under a forest canopy; stream crossings and ridge views ahead; a slower finish beside the water at Dahu Park. This is Taipei Grand Trail Section 4—a substantial shared trail day from the Fengguizui/Shuangxigou area into Neihu.
Hike with Malcolm and Couchsurfers in Taiwan as the series continues through shaded paths, mountain greenery, and the Baishihu landscape.
The route
The planned line follows Fengguizui → Shuangxigou Historic Trail → Meihu Mountain → Bishan → Daluntou North-Side Trail → Baishihu Suspension Bridge / Wishing Trail → Yuanguang Temple Trail → Dahu Park Ecological Flood Control Park → Dahu Park Station.
Expect roughly 14–18 km, depending on connector paths. The listed difficulty is 5/10: come ready for a full day on foot, with the final duration depending on the group’s pace.
Meet, then head for the trail
Gather outside Shilin MRT Station Exit 1 at 8:30 AM on August 22. The group will share a taxi or Uber directly to the Shuangxigou Historic Trail trailhead before starting the hike. The outing is planned to run until approximately 2:30 PM.
Pack for the distance
Bring what you need, settle into the pace, and hike this next section together—from quiet mountain trails to Dahu Park.
