Two weapons, both older than your great-grandparents' wedding photos, and both taught here the old way: Luigi Barbasetti military sabre, a system dating to 1895, and classical French foil.
On the strip
Sabre: The Barbasetti military sabre tradition comes from an era when sabre was a cavalry weapon and drill was taken seriously. Expect cuts, guards and a lot of footwork.
Foil: Classical French foil is the precise one: right of way, clean lines, and the satisfaction of a touch you actually set up.
You don't need to own a blade or a jacket to start. You just need to show up and say hello.
Gear first, then the fun part
Basic protective gear is required for every lesson. The good news is the club will prepare a basic set for you. Just message them on Facebook beforehand to arrange gear rental, so there's a mask waiting with your name on it (well, figuratively).
