Pacific views, forest paths, wet stairs, seafood if the day is kind.
A casual one-day escape to Nan'ao (南澳) — one of Yilan’s quieter coastal corners, where mountain trails drop toward the ocean and the plan stays just flexible enough for Taiwan weather.
We’ll meet inside TRA Tze-Chiang Limited Express No. 270(自強270) — check the best boarding station for you — and ride toward Nan'ao Station(南澳火車站) together. From there, expect a relaxed but active day on foot: several kilometers across trails, paved roads, stairs, and uneven paths.
Chaoyang Trail(朝陽步道) for Pacific views, cliffs, and green ridgelines
Huanshan Ecological Trail(環山生態步道) for a quieter forest walk
Wetland Ecological Pond(濕地生態池) for a slower nature stop
Chaoyang Fishing Harbor(朝陽漁港) for coastal views and, hopefully, seafood
Nearby beaches, viewpoints, and local shops as time and weather allow
Comfortable hiking shoes, 1–2 liters of water, lunch or snacks, sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, and an umbrella or raincoat if storms look likely. If it’s wet, please take the stairs slowly — they can get slippery.
Plans may change, pause, or cancel depending on weather and safety. By joining, you’re responsible for your own safety and personal belongings.
