One topic. A small circle. Eighty minutes of thinking out loud with people who might disagree with you, and no Kant required.
Practical Philosophy Taipei is a free meetup every two weeks for curious people who want to sharpen their critical thinking, practice communicating clearly, and build a community that likes real conversation.
How the afternoon runs
Once there are more than 7–8 people, we split into smaller groups so it stays a conversation and doesn't turn into a lecture. Each topic comes with jump-off questions to get things going. You don't have to answer them.
What to bring
Your own opinion. We don't study other thinkers. We want to hear what you think. You're welcome to bring in a religious view or a school of thought, but you don't have to.
Good timing. There's a 15-minute grace period. After that, walking in late breaks the flow.
Money for a drink, maybe. Entry is free. If we meet in a café, please buy a drink. If the chapter rents a space, it may ask for donations, and those are always 100% voluntary.
And no, it isn't a group of guys in a candlelit room. The organizers say meetups usually come out around 50/50 by gender.

Where to find the topic
Every Sunday, the topic and its jump-off points go up in the WhatsApp group. The meeting location is confirmed there too, so joining is highly recommended.
One house rule
Please don't message another member privately unless they've clearly said yes, for example by asking you in person to message them. Contacting people without that consent can get you removed from the group.
Practical Philosophy meets in person in more than 25 countries. If you're traveling, see the other chapters.
