One meeting point, two pubs, and a table full of people from everywhere. Locals, expats and travelers get together every Saturday night in Taipei to swap languages, stories and bar recommendations.
How the night goes
7:30 PM: Meet up at 玉門街一號. Say hi, grab a name and practice a few phrases in someone else's language. Nobody's grading your tones.
Then: Pub one. Drinks, more conversation, and the moment you realize the person next to you also moved here for "just a year" five years ago.
Later: Pub two. It's a different spot, and the hosts pick both bars ahead of time, so the vibe changes every week. Come back next Saturday and it won't be a rerun.
Who's at the table
An open-minded crowd of people in their 20s and 30s. Some live in Taipei and want to practice English (or Mandarin, or something else). Some just moved here and need people to explore the city with. Others are passing through and would rather spend Saturday with new friends than alone in a hostel bunk.
You don't need to bring a group, speak any particular language or know anyone. Being curious and willing to say hello is plenty.
Get in before Saturday
The crew keeps in touch through WhatsApp, so join the group chat here to stay in the loop. Then show up at 7:30 and let the night go from there. 🍻
