The cup arrives with no label. Someone across the table says roasty? Someone else says 花香. A third person is still hunting for the word in Japanese. Nobody's wrong yet, and that's the fun part.
Pour, sip, guess, compare
You'll taste at least three teas blind, brewed gongfu-style in small rounds. Then the table talks them through together. It all happens in a private tea studio full of plants, tucked off Yongkang Street. English, 中文 and 日本語 are all welcome, so you can also use it as easygoing language practice on a topic you actually care about.
You don't need to know any tea words. If local tea culture has felt hard to get into, this is an easy way in, with new tea friends and good brews.
Bring something (totally optional)
Bring a tea you swear by, a mystery tin someone gifted you, or a snack worth sharing. Put it into the rotation and we'll figure out the tasting notes together.
The essentials
Heads-up: Dietary restrictions can't be accommodated right now, so please plan any snacks with that in mind.
