Taipei Friday Solo Travelers & Expats Locals Social + Hosted Bar Hopping

Walking into a Taipei bar alone on a Friday is a lot. It gets much easier when someone is already there to say hi and introduce you around. 🤗

Every Friday at Somewhere Bar 那裡 near Liuzhangli MRT, our local hosts handle the awkward part. They greet first-timers, make introductions and pull quieter guests into the conversation. Lots of people show up solo, and a few of our hosts first came that way too.

How Friday night goes

You'll usually meet solo travelers, international students, working holiday folks, expats and newcomers, business travelers, remote workers and Taiwanese locals. People chat in English and Mandarin. This is a night for making friends, not a language exchange, so there are no language tables and no lessons.

By 10 PM you've had a couple of hours to find your people, so you won't walk into the next stop alone. You can dance, get another drink or keep the conversation going.

The essentials

Your included drink can be wine, beer or something non-alcoholic, so you don't have to drink alcohol. Bringing a friend? Tickets are still NT$400 each, and two people arriving together get 2 × NT$50 drink tokens to use on more drinks during the event.

每週五 19:30–22:00 在 Somewhere Bar 那裡（六張犁捷運站附近）。很多人都是一個人來，local host 會幫你破冰、介紹朋友。每人 NT$400，含一杯飲品（紅酒、啤酒或無酒精），兩人同行可獲 2 張 NT$50 加點代幣。22:00 後可自由跟著主持人去圓山 MAJI Square 或信義區 DJ 酒吧，交通、酒水和入場費需自付。這不是語言交換，重點是交朋友。
