Working for yourself doesn't mean you have to work by yourself. The Trenches is a Monday-afternoon co-working crew in Taipei for founders, digital nomads, remote workers and anyone with a project of their own. There are no panels and no forced networking. You open your laptop and work next to people stuck on the same kinds of problems you are.
How a Monday runs
14:00 HUDDLE
> who you are
> what you're building
> today's goal
... heads down
breaks? your call
18:00 laptops close
> drinks/dinner
(if we have energy)
The Huddle. We start each session with a quick round: who you are, what you're working on and what you want done by 6. Say your goal out loud and the room knows what you're pushing for and how they can help.
The in-between. Mostly quiet work. There's no agenda and no scheduled breaks, so you run your own clock. Turn to your neighbor when it makes sense, whether that's to talk through a business-model pivot, get past a technical wall or just vent about the solo-founder grind.
The reward. If we still have the energy at the end, we close the laptops and go out for a drink or dinner. Co-workers often end up as friends this way.
You'll fit right in if…
Discussion-only meetups wear you out and you'd rather actually ship something
You get more done around other motivated people
You're from any industry or career. Students are welcome too
